Ridley Scott

Le réalisateur Ridley Scott

Ridley Scott began his career as a draughtsman and studied art and design at West Hartlepool College of Art in the north of England. During his studies, he developed a passion for filmmaking. He made his first short film Boy and Bicycle in 1965 as a student. His brother Tony Scott, a director, writer and actor, played his first role in this short film.

In the 1970s, he worked for the British advertising industry, making commercials. He continued to make advertising films throughout his career and became a leading light in this field. Outside of advertising, he directed three subsequent films; Alien, the Eighth Passenger, Blade Runner and Legend. These films brought Ridley Scott to the attention of the public in the 1970s.
